Give Generously
21 Ways to Give
People talk about "giving back" like it's something only the rich can do. The truth is that, as a Christian, we understand God has given us everything we have and giving back to God is something we do because of all He's done for us. God has given everyone some time, treasure and talents that we are responsible to invest for Him. In your mission is a campus missionary, you shouldn't expect that God will provide the resources you need for your ministry if you aren't investing both in your own ministry as well as the ministry of others. In the next 21 days, you will develop the habit of giving your time, treasure and talents.
Let's get started...
- Time: Connect with your youth pastor or pastor about how your campus ministry can connect better with the ministry of your church.
- Treasure: if you aren't in the habit of already doing it, it's time to start tithing. Of every dollar that goes through your hands, 10¢ of that dollar needs to go to the ministry of your local church. This is the baby obedience and you will see the fruit—God blessing you with more money.
- Talent: It's time to make a list of the talents God has given you. This is no time for arrogance or false humility. Make an honest list of the things you are good at and things you are great at—if you can't think of anything ask your friends and family members. These are the talents you'll use for God.
- Time: it's time for an honest assessment of how much time you actually give to reaching students at your school. In the Bible, not having time or simply being too lazy to respond is no excuse when answering to God. If you need to cut some things out of your schedule to sacrifice for the cause of reaching students, it's time to do that.
- Treasure: Speed the Light (STL) is the greatest missions giving opportunity anywhere. As you give to STL you make missionaries more effective in what they do by providing sound systems, transportation and other communication equipment. Above and beyond your tithe, make a pledge to Speed the Light stl.ag.org.
- Talent: Look at the list the talents you made on day three. Today, put one of those talents to use.

- Treasure: You'll need some money to ship the supplies you collected on day 7.

Be sure to inspect clothing that is given to make sure they are in good condition. Sort clothing and goods into labeled boxes to help those working at the donation sites.
- Treasure: Donate a favorite article of clothing or go buy an outfit that you would love for yourself and donate it to a church clothing ministry or school "clothes closet".
