Evangelism Assignment Ideas
Many of the following ideas have been taken from the FIRE Bible Student Edition.
Street Witnessing
Hold a training session at the church for a few hours on a Friday night. Take time to pray and teach on how to share your faith in Christ. Encourage the youth to fast this day as they prepare for witnessing. Meet again on Saturday and hit the streets. Go to a park or downtown. Have the teens in groups of two with a leader if possible.
Local Church Outreach
Consider going to a church in a smaller community (or do this for your church). With the
Pastor’s approval and blessing, meet at his church for a time of prayer and orientation. Have the teens go door-to-door to invite people to church the next day. Teens would hand people an invite card for a special community day at the church. Perhaps the pastor would want to have a church picnic following service or other community type gathering.
Another idea is to have the teens simply go door-to-door to share their faith with people.
City Clean up Day
Contact the city about doing a citywide clean up day. The city maps off certain parts of the city for you to clean. You can even find yourself painting signposts or other jobs the city has a hard time getting around to doing. Perhaps you could clean up the city park and paint playground equipment.
Inform the local paper of the day so they can take pictures and let the community know that teens are making a difference.
Tract or Treat
Teens dress up in funny outfits on October 31st and go door-to-door. As the person comes to the door they say, “Tract or Treat.” The teens then hand the people a spiritual tract.
City Mission
Have the teens work at a city mission one day. They can clean, do minor repairs and/or serve meals. If you live in a large city, one idea is to make sandwiches and take them to homeless people and express the love of Christ.
Free Car Wash
Hold a free car wash and hand out bottles of water for passengers to drink while they wait. Hand them a flyer about your church and tell them you are doing this as a way to bless the people in your town. Some may want to give you a donation but avoid taking it as you want them to be blessed.
Free Christmas Wrapping
Secure a stand at the local mall and offer free Christmas wrapping. You may want to have a few moms help out with this and the teens share with people why they are doing this.
5th Quarter
Have a pizza feed at your church or local high school following a football or basketball game. As teens enter, hand them an invitation to your youth group. Have a time when a few teens share their testimony. Perhaps a few teens play in a band and you can have a mini-concert.
